The artifacts, the primary spelling inventory and the reading assessment, were done in the beginning of my tutoring sessions with my tutee to show me what spelling stage and reading level she was in order for me to have a good place to start in our tutoring session. Both assessments show my tutee work as well as her strengths and weeknesses in order for me to use the approriate material to further her learning. The informal assessments were also used in the end of our tutoring sessions to evaluate her progress in her intellectual learning throughout our tutoring.
The reading assessment artifact is also an example of how I selected an assessment that will acquire my tutee to answer questions that will show her prior knowledge, read a small passage, and then asked to answer questions about the particular passage in which she read to show her comprehension. The reading assessment is evaluated to show the tutee's acurracy level and to diagnose her reading level. This assessment allows me as a tutor find my tuttee's reading level to be able to chose books that are approriate for her to read on her own. Chosing approriate level books encourages the tutee to want to read and allows her to feel confident about reading. Chossing the approriate assessment for the student allows teachers to evaluate different concepts at a time.

These artifacts have helped me build my philosphy on being able to build on student's strenghs and weakenessess. Finding the corrects assessments to do to show what students are able to do and what they are having difficult on can help me as a teacher figure out my lessons and activities in class to help build my student's learning. Teachers should not teach to the test, but instead use the assessment as a guide to areas to teach. The spelling inventory artifact showed me how my tutee had trouble spelling the words shine and hope, which had the silent "e" in the end, so instead of practicing how to spell these two words we can focus on the bigger concepts that is how having an "e" in the end is silent. This gives students an opportunity to learn that words that might not sound like they have an "e" in the end when you say them, but when you write the word it's written with an "e" in the end. Your focusing more an concept where students are able to learn how to spell those two words that she mispelled, but also learn on the spelling of many other words.
These assessments have not only helped me as a student learn on the process of administering them, but also helped me as a teacher on how to take the results to help you evaluate what your students need help on and what they have accomplished through their learning. Being able to fit your teaching to the student's needs allows your teaching to be student focused allowing your student to build on ther weeker areas where they might need more assistance to develop their intellectual development. Having a classroom of twenty or more students assessments will inform me of what needs to be taught and what concepts or areas students had trouble with. Assessment can also help me reflect on my teaching to see how I can modify my lessons, so students are able to understand better the concepts they are having difficult with.
